 | The Goal by Eliyahu M. Goldratt
As business books go, this is one of the most relevant, practical, useful, well written I have read (and I have read a lot!)
This inspires coordinated effort to problem resolution and the on-going search for perfection.
By reading this book, you can be as good as you possible can be. | | The Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande
Imagine a surgeon who thinks beyond the mechanics of operating on people and researches the possibility of improvement by the use of a simple checklist.
Gawande has written other books that are as thought provoking as this one - but the message in this one is very relevant to business.
Make a list of what you need to do, go over it each and every time you do it, and you will deliver a consistently better or best product.
Set a standard and follow it - not revolutionary, but how easily we forget that the simple things can guarantee that the job is done and done well. |
